From Llŷn to Iveragh



The LIVE project is delighted to have its first cross-border visit from the Llŷn peninsula to Iveragh.

Our Welsh partners are keen to share their experience of establishing an ecomuseum on Llŷn and learn about local initiatives on Iveragh. Join us for a community comhrá focussing on co-marketing, landscape partnerships and regenerative tourism.


Meet the Welsh Partners of the Llŷn Iveragh Ecomuseum Project:


Wednesday 24th November 2021:

11.30am-1.00pm - Royal Valentia Hotel, Valentia Island

7.00pm - 8.30pm - The Ring of Kerry Hotel, Cahersiveen


Thursday 25th November 2021:

11am - 12.30pm - Dan Murphy’s Loft, Sneem

5.30pm - 7.00pm - The Blind Piper, Caherdaniel

Arwel Jones co-ordinates the LIVE project in Llŷn. He works with partners, stakeholders and communities to implement the outputs of the LIVE project. Building on 18 years’ experience of partnership working on the Llŷn Peninsula he will ensure that the area benefits fully from the project, developing and sharing good practice that will offer a sustainable and prosperous future for the area and its residents.



Gwenan Griffith is the LIVE Digital Community Officer. With a background in fine art, community development and digital inclusion, Gwenan leads the dissemination and outreach work package, responsible for the development of the LIVE Ecomuseum brand and delivering effective marketing capacity in Llŷn. She will be working closely with the Ecomuseum partners and surrounding businesses to embed a cohesive marketing approach and will deliver digital marketing training to project partners.


Leonie Schulz is an Environmental Social Scientist with research interests and employment history in sustainable/ responsible tourism, ecotourism, recreation ecology, visitor management in natural areas, and wildlife conservation. She has worked in different coastal and mountain areas as a tour guide and researcher, investigating novel visitor monitoring techniques and sustainable tourism management solutions. As part of LIVE, she will be looking at environmental and socio-cultural impacts of tourism on the two peninsulas.
